Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted he is concerned about Gabriel Jesus after he was stretchered off during their FA Cup defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

Jesus started the game alongside Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli in the Gunners’ attack.

But the Brazilian played only 40 minutes, as he picked up what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

Jesus was clearly in agony as he was taken off the pitch and was then replaced by Raheem Sterling.

Speaking after the game, Arteta said: “Big worry, that’s my feeling. He had to come off with a stretcher. The impact, the feeling that he had.”

In a separate interview with the BBC, he added: “No update but it’s not looking good.

“He was in quite a lot of pain, he had to come off on a stretcher and he’s not looking good.”

Jesus’ absence adds to growing injury woes in Arsenal’s squad.

Defenders Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain out, while Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri are also on the sidelines.
