The Minister disclosed this to newsmen immediately after he toured military facilities.

“If you’re following what’s happening in Niger Republic, Burkina Faso, and Mali, you’ll see that these attacks have heightened everywhere,” Badaru said.

“There’s a renewed vigour by the insurgents to destabilize the Sahel region and we’re doing alot to curtail them,” he said.

The Minister added that the federal government of Nigeria will continue to fight it these terrorists as he expressed confidence that and normalcy will return to the region.

“If you’ll do justice to us, in the past two weeks, you’ll see that the armed forces are gaining momentum and attacking and eliminating them,” the Minister said.

Just last weekend, suspected Boko Haram terrorists planted Improvised Explosive Devices in Guzamala Local Government of Borno State, killing nine persons.
