Controversial British broadcaster Piers Morgan on Saturday labeled the decision to give Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly a red card against Wolves as a “nonsense decision.”

Recall that referee Michael Oliver sent off Lewis-Skelly in the 43rd minute of Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League victory against Wolves for stopping a counter-attack.

The 18-year-old tripped Matt Doherty, and Oliver felt he had caught the Wolves player high on his leg in an act of serious foul play.

However, Morgan believes the referee made the wrong decision.

“FFS… another absolutely ridiculous red card. Lewis-Skelly sent off for a trip, just a nonsense decision,” Morgan tweeted.

He added in another tweet: “The only thing worse than Michael Oliver making that terrible decision was VAR backing him up.

“Neither of them is fit for purpose if they think that’s a red card.

“Football’s going so pathetically soft even Hugh Grant might start playing it.”

The result against Wolves leaves Arsenal in second position with 47 points from 23 matches.
