Irans Missile Strikes Leave 11,000 Israeli Homes Destroyed, 30,000 Damaged
A devastating barrage of Iranian missiles has left a staggering toll on Israeli housing infrastructure, with 11,000 homes completely destroyed and another 30,000 damaged, according to Israel’s National Emergency Authority. Preliminary assessments suggest a third of the affected buildings may need demolition due to structural instability. The estimated cost to repair the damage stands at $1.2 billion, a figure expected to rise as recovery efforts continue.
The strikes, which targeted multiple regions, have displaced thousands of families, many now seeking temporary shelter in community centers and with relatives. Images from the hardest-hit areas show collapsed apartment blocks, shattered windows, and streets littered with debris. Emergency crews work around the clock, but the scale of destruction has strained resources.
“This isn’t just about buildings, it’s about lives disrupted, memories erased,” said David Cohen, a volunteer with Israel’s disaster response team. “Families have lost everything in seconds.”
While Israel’s missile defense systems intercepted many projectiles, the sheer volume of attacks overwhelmed defenses in some areas. The government has vowed to accelerate reconstruction, but analysts warn recovery will take months, if not years.
As the region grapples with the aftermath, global leaders have called for restraint. Yet for those on the ground, the focus remains on rebuilding homes.
