According to the statement, some departments in the Faculty of Art, including Mass Communication, English and History were affected by the decision taken after an emergency meeting on Wednesday.

The statement reads, “The University community is disturbed that despite the memo prohibiting wild jubilation and celebration on campus, graduating students from the faculty of Art, Department of Mass Communications, English, History and International Studies violated the directive of the University Management.

“Graduating students from the affected departments were involved in car displays, use of siren, spraying of money, shouting and hooting within the campus and also blocked the access road leading in and out of the University.

“The University Management in an emergency meeting held today , Wednesday, 29 January, 2025, decided to invoke the extant laws on wild jubilation and celebration, thereby cancelling all final year examinations written on Wednesday including but not limited to the following: ELS 411; MAC 414; HIS 416”.
